As the Apple vs FBI issue is demonstrating, and has been demonstrated in a number of cases over the last few years, everyone wants access to your personal information.

Digital technology, smart phones and any other devices that allow us to store information also provide an opportunity for hackers and companies to get in, steal and use that information.

That’s no small worry.

Losing your information, personal or work-related, is a very serious threat. And privacy legislation hasn’t kept up to pace.

There are those who argue that you don’t have anything to worry about if you don’t have anything to hide, especially when it comes to company marketing strategies. But that argument is absolute garbage. It completely ignores what hackers (and yes, companies that you regularly buy from) can do with your most basic information once they have it.

So, it’s with great concern that I tell you about Traktor Pro 2.10.1 which allows Native Instruments access to your info. Is that a big deal? Yes. Even if a company just wants to know what you’re doing with its product for its own marketing purposes, peeking into that info without your ok is not ok.

Luckily, there’s a way to block Native Instruments access. Check out the how-to here.
