Rythmic American Poetry (aka RAP) is poetry in action, words that come alive and connect with some inner truth we all carry.
At least the good stuff does.
Rapping looks so easy, like a lot of other things do when they’re done well (DJs can relate, right?). But … and here’s the understatement of the year … it’s not. It takes skill and creativity. It also takes some good ol’ fashioned schooling.
Rappers plan out their words according to message, beats and bars. It’s a common process among the best of them that looks complicated, but that can be mastered with some practice.
