Another Nightclub Bans Laptops

Liquid Sky nightclub in Berlin has joined the ranks of clubs that ban laptops and any number of other pieces of DJ gear. Usually, the club’s complaint lies in the idea that they just don’t have the room for DJs’ own personal equipment. Use the stuff they have or nothing at all is typically what they’ll tell DJs.
Because so many DJs are divided on which equipment is vital to a good set and which isn’t, clubs like this one end up with supporters and detractors. Some say that real DJs shouldn’t need all of that extra stuff anyway. Some say that there’s more than one way to DJ.
What do you think? Should a club dictate what equipment a DJ can or can’t bring along?

Times have changed so we all adapt, invest and do what we have too. It’s the same as when a Live band comes…the venue supplies tgem with a stage to perform. No one ever tells the drummer he can’t use a piece of his equipment What’s the mess about REALDJS !!??? Stop the madness already and let people Play their box and Enjoy the experience they are providing for YOU.

I think a club can do whatever they want as long as they pay their DJ s properly. After all it’s their venue. My gripe would be if this is done to keep youngsters, learning DJ s out then it becomes vindictive and malicious.
