Brooklyn’s Bedford Library has hopped on the DJ bandwagon by offering teens free lessons. The series is run by Remix Academy and is limited in terms of space and time. By the time you read this post, the program will be over.

But, the reason I’m writing about it is because there are a lot of libraries around the country that are beginning to offer free DJ classes to school-aged children and teens. If you’re interested, pay your local library a visit to see what they offer. If they don’t offer anything like this, encourage them to look into what other libraries have done and to bring the program to your branch. Perhaps once they see that, free DJ classes for kids will be common in all libraries.

Have any of you made use of such programs?
