If anyone tells you that the music industry is teetering on the edge of destruction. Don’t believe them. The music industry has never been healthier.

Bloomberg Go recently reported, “Retail spending on recorded music rose 8% in the first six months of the year. Sales are being driven by the growth of paid streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music,” (thestreet.com).

Sales have taken a hit in the past thanks to the cost of piracy. The fact that spending has increased seems to suggest that piracy has decreased.

Do you think that fewer people are stealing less music? Or is there something else going on?
