It makes me so sad to report yet another horrible tragedy in a nightclub.
The latest is a devastating fire that took place only a few days ago at an unlicensed venue in Oakland, California. The night of the tragedy, DJs and live musicians were there to showcase their talents. Unfortunately, the combination of candles and rickety wooden structures created a disaster that caused a tremendous loss of life.
It just didn’t have to be that way. There are standards of safety by which builders, dwellers, and promoters must adhere to. Yes, there’s added cost. But, in the end, the lives that abiding by those standards can save are so worth the extra money and effort.
