Vestax – although not an old company, having been founded in 1977 – was certainly a venerable company.

Vestax had been at the forefront of creating and improving musical instruments and mixers, turntables and other technological advancements that DJs came to know and love.

Unfortunately, 2014 saw the demise of the company. Debt problems let to bankruptcy and the end of an era for music production.

Well, dry those tears. Company founder Hidesato Shiino is breathing new life into Vestax with a new line of products.

In his blog post, Shino feels he must set the record straight regarding why Vestax shut its doors. He explains that once he’d created a “profitable and debt-free enterprise,” he decided to retire.

“What drove me to move on was that I had become disillusioned by the vulgarity of the ‘money game’, and how it was depriving the human spirit of manufacturing-creativity. I felt the shallowness, and an emphasis on price over innovative technologies.”

Take that revelation any way you’d like. The gist is that he’s back at the helm.

According to Mixmag, Vestax will be releasing the STP/VESTAX mixer as of March 2016. Read the details here.
