Top Songs of 2016 According To Shazam
The end of year lists are starting to come in fast and furious. This year we’ve got one more contributor – Shazam.
If you remember, Shazam allows users to identify music based on a few bars. So, Shazam’s list isn’t made up of the most popular song played by DJs or the most streamed or downloaded song. It’s a list of the most Shazamed songs … those songs that people searched for the most. You know, there you are at a club. You want to know what that song is that’s playing, so you let Shazam do it’s thing.
The most Shazamed artist? Drake. Hmm. Does that mean that most people don’t recognize his work? To be fair, a DJ might play a snippet. Too little to identify the artist for sure. What it probably means is that Drake’s music finds its way into a lot of mixes.
