If you’re one of the millions who’ve come to depend on iHeartRadio for your tunes, you may be in for some heartache.

iHeartMedia Inc, which is the biggest player when it comes to internet radio and streaming, might be on the verge of bankruptcy. Although all of the doom and gloom speculations have yet to be confirmed, there have been reports that company head Bob Pittman doesn’t think the company will survive another year.

The bigger question – and yes, maybe a moot question – is whether organizations like iHeartMedia Inc should be allowed to have their fingers in so many pies. The problem is that if these companies fail, it affects a lot of people. No doubt these conglomerates feel that they’re providing a necessary service. But, maybe it would be better for the public if we had a whole bunch of smaller companies to choose from.
