Beatmatching is a skill that every DJ should have to some extent … and that’s putting it mildly.
A DJ whose great at beatmatching will master transitions like a pro. For the beginner DJ, though, it can be tough to figure out. I’m not saying that it’s absolutely vital for all DJs everywhere to become expert beatmatchers. So, don’t get all upset. I am saying that it’s a really useful skill to get to know well. With so much digital software available now, beatmatching isn’t really a critical skill to know anymore. If you’re like me and not too trusting of your digital software to get the BPM count right every time, then knowing at least a little about beatmatching will serve you well.
