All DJs are going to come face-to-face with a microphone sooner rather than later. You’re going to need a mic to talk to the crowd at the very least, right? A microphone gives you the opportunity to give shout-outs to anyone you think deserves it – the club owner, bartender, the party’s person of honor, other performers…. Fancy yourself a singer? Your mic gives you (or an actual singer) the ability to really turn up the heat.

As a pro, the last thing you want to do is rely heavily on the equipment you find at the club. Bring as much of your own stuff as possible.
