To say that some DJs believe that digital technology is watering down the industry while some believe the opposite is an understatement. There’s a clear line drawn in the sand.

Some people argue that DJs who use laptops, CDJs, the Sync button, and other technological advances are not real DJs. But, here’s another way to look at it. Technology in the music industry is not exactly new. Every time something changes – whether it’s improving how an instrument produces sound or improving how microphones grab and transmit different frequencies – there’s always a group of people who sounds the alarm. Sure, there’s a lot of stuff out there that might leave you scratching your head and wondering what will become of the music industry. But, new technology also inspires creativity.
