Baauer Sues The FCC Over “Harlem Shake”
By now, you’ve probably heard that a few powerful individuals meeting behind closed doors have voted to repeal the Net Neutrality rules enacted by Barack Obama in 2015. Although we have yet to see how these changes will affect us day-to-day, we can look for clues in some other countries around the world that have no net neutrality rules, like the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the FCC has tried to allay fears by making a video. In it, FCC chairman Ajit Pai uses Baauer’s
“Harlem Shake” to help him make his point. Unfortunately for Pai, Baauer never gave permission for its use and is now taking action to stop the advertisement from running.
