pearls-of-wisdom

The best DJs make it look so easy. They step behind the decks and off they go, playing great music, working the crowd till everyone’s wrapped around their fingers, scoring gigs like it’s nothing.

That’s the way it looks. But, the reality is always so different.

Those DJs who make it look so easy actually put in a whole lot of hours creating playlists, networking with club and event managers, learning how to read the crowd, and just generally practicing, practicing, practicing.

Yet, life has a way of levelling the playing field, doesn’t it? Even the most experienced and well-prepared DJs have those moments where it all seems to fall apart. You forget an important cable. A necessary piece of equipment dies. If it’s happened to you, you’re in good company because it’s happened to everyone. And if it hasn’t happened to you … it probably will soon!
