Tragedy Strikes the Mad Decent Boat Party
By now, you’ve probably heard of the Mad Decent Boat Party. Now in its second year, the cruise travels from Miami to Cozumel over a four day period and features a long line-up of performers. It’s been described as a four-day-three-night party.
This year’s festival cruise, however, has been marred by tragedy. Twenty-four year old Kaylyn Rose Sommer was seen jumping over the side of the boat Thursday evening at about 7pm while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. Seventy-two hours later, the search by authorities has turned into a recovery mission.
Sommer leaves behind her husband and 6 year old daughter. Our thoughts and prayers remain with her friends and family.
