Love streaming your music? You and millions of other people have been pouring billions of dollars into the service annually since it became a thing. And the end is nowhere in sight.

Goldman Sachs is predicting that revenues for rights holders will jump to $28 billion by 2030. Revenues are at about $4 billion in 2016. The company is also predicting that more of us – up to 847 million – will be getting our music from streaming services more than from any other way.

So, who’s going to benefit from all that money? The biggest rights holders, of course. Sony Music and Universal Music Group are expected to rake in 50% to 60% of royalties for each piece of content available for streaming.
