Jay Z and Beyoncé should be pretty happy when they wake up this morning. The Los Angeles Business Journal has just reported on the latest number of billionaires currently living in Los Angeles County, and these two are on the list. Honestly, I thought they were already billionaires several times over.
Not surprising, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, c0-discoverer of the breast cancer drug Abraxane, is up there at number one or two spot. (The actual order can change daily depending on changes in net worth estimates.) Vying for top spot with Soon-Shiong is none other than Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, Space X, and Solar City.
Jay Z and Beyoncé who are newcomers to the list this year share the limelight with Facebook and Spotify investor Sean Parker.
At some point, making money from your music is less about coming up with great songs that people love and more about properly running your brand like a business.
