Is Wooden Wisdom The Next Big Thing?
The set is called Wooden Wisdom at the Do-Over, Los Angeles. But, do you think this cross-over actually works?
Actor Elijah Woods who played Frodo Baggins in The Hobbit has been working a side job over the last few years, and now he’s ready to take it to the big time.
Woods has founded a record label called Simian Records, and has taken up DJ-ing with friend Zack Crowie. Together they are Wooden Wisdom. Now they’re embarking on a US tour.
So, what do you think about an actor going pro as a DJ? I don’t mean to typecast anyone. Nearly everyone has multiple talents. So, why shouldn’t actors be given the chance to express those talents to a general public?
I guess I can’t help but wonder about how much of Woods’ success as a DJ comes because he’s a famous actor. Would he have been able to secure gigs if he wasn’t famous?
The thing is that judgements serve no purpose unless they’re based on something fair. So, let’s do that. Let’s judge Wooden Wisdom on its DJ-ing talent.
