This one’s kind of an interesting concept. And to be fair, at first I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April Fools.

OSSIC X has just released a special set of headphones and app that allow you to listen to music in 3D.

3D typically refers to space – height, width and depth, and music can’t really possess those qualities. So, how does this product work? The inventors claim that the sound produced by the app-headphone collaboration is so multilayered and of such a fine quality, that it’s like you’re right there with the band.

If any of you have had the opportunity to try one of these, let me know if the sound quality is really as deep and complex as the company claims.

The product is still in the developmental stage. They’ve reached $70,000 of their $200,000 goal, and they’re also offering the beta app for $79. Check it out here.
