I’ve covered how to use some DJ effects before, but I wanted to focus specifically on three today – echo, reverb, and phaser.

The key thing to remember about effects is that it’s really easy to over use them. There’s no better way to kill the atmosphere at a party than by constantly sticking an effect into every transition or mixed into every song.

Ok, I know you wouldn’t do that. You’re a professional. You know how to use your equipment and the effects that come with it. But, there’s no harm in a refresher. Getting tips from the pros is a fabulous way of adding to your DJ toolbox.

So, in the interest of betterment, I found this video via DJ Tech Tools that demonstrates the art of using echo, reverb, and phaser on a Pioneer DJ DJM-900’s Beat FX EQ selectors.

Check it out here.
