I’m not sure how many DJs new to the industry list “wedding DJ” as a career goal. But, I remember years ago, it was a totally likely type of DJing most people aspired to. Think about it. The work is steady, the crowd is diverse, and you’re not limited by any particular genre. The best part is watching whatever manner of craziness ensues as the guests limber up on the dancefloor.

James Mulry, a DJ who’s played a number of hot venues (including The Woods and House of Yes), left the clubs behind to become a full-time wedding DJ. He says he approaches his work like a professional, taking every aspect of it seriously, and that’s what makes him the best DJ around.

Over to you: what do you like about DJing weddings?
