Algoriddim is a company that creates DJ software. They’ve partnered with a lot of big names in the past, like iTunes and Spotify, in order to make music and technology easier for DJs to access.

One of their latest creations is the djay Pro, and it just won the Apple Design 2016 award.

This app allows the visually impaired to DJ with the ease of sighted individuals. In other words, their invention allows literally anyone to have the chance to DJ regardless of their physical abilities.

The app works via a VoiceOver function which, when activated, allows users to hear a description of the controls they tap on the interface. Users can know what’s happening onscreen without needing to see it.

DJs often talk about how the art of DJing is about feeling and hearing the music. This app just made that description a reality for everyone.
