Avicii Plays His Final Set at Ibiza
It really is the end of the end for Avicii. After announcing his retirement back in March, Avicii has now reached the final performance.
Avicii will play his final set this coming Sunday, August 28 at Ushuaïa Ibiza. Everyone there knows him because that’s where he’s held a residency for the past five years. Will you be going to see him perform?
Avicii has struggled with addiction issues since first breaking onto the DJ scene. Good for him for recognizing that he needs to take care of himself first and foremost. Touring and the demands of the industry in general can be extremely hard on anyone. Even those people who think of themselves as strong and grounded can succumb to the excess exposure to money, sex, drugs … you name it. At that level, you can have pretty much anything you want. That possibility alone is enough to send people over to the dark side.
For Avicii, playing 220 sets in 261 weeks was all a bit too much. He’s definitely due for a good, long vacation.
