Jesse Ventura did it. So did Clint Eastwood. And who can forget the “I’ll be back” king, Arnold Schwartzenegger. Well, now it seems Will Smith is considering running for elected office. Not that entering public service should be limited to certain professions, like MBA grads or lawyers. But, what qualifications does Smith think he has that would make him a good elected official?

Will Smith has the Midas touch when it comes to the film industry. HisΒ Men In Black franchise hit gold when the first film was released, and it just kept winning popularity contests with each subsequent release. Full disclosure, if it’s on tv when I’m channel surfing, I always get sucked in.

The music industry is really where he got his start, and there, too, his success just keeps rolling.

But, politics? Don’t get me wrong, politics is an honorable profession … or at least, it should be. Can he survive the “politics”, as it were, and really do good for the people?
