The Mancuso Effect
A few days ago, I reported that legendary DJ David Mancuso had passed away. Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, a popular DJ in her own right, was not only a friend of Mancuso’s, but also his protégé. For more than two decades, she studied his techniques, spun records alongside him, and developed a lifelong friendship.
If you ever wonder about whether you should ask a DJ you admire if he can mentor you, or if you wonder if you should take the time to mentor someone new to DJing, your answer should be, yes.
