Remember when SoundCloud was closing accounts belonging to DJs and producers because of copyright infringement? Then, they decided that DJs and producers could post their mixes without harrassment.

It looks like they’ve gone one better this time. Not only can you continue to post your mixes without fearing that they’ll shut you down, you can even make money off what you post. Here’s how it works. SoundCloud has introduced a new option called SoundCloud Premier. Anyone can sign up. There is a cost involved, of course.

The fact that they’re charging for the privilege really isn’t surprising. Not only is SoundCloud getting a cut from you, but I suspect a certain percentage of that subscription fee is going toward licensing rights. Check it out here.
