New Partnership Allows You To Stream DJ Mixes

In a move hailed as a bonus for musicians, producers and creators everywhere, Dubset Media has partnered with Apple Music “to stream remixes and DJ mixes.”
These mixes were never streamed before because doing so would violate copyright law. Mixes are, by nature, a medley of previously licensed music. Playing them would basically be breaking to law. The musicians who created the original music wouldn’t be credited in any meaningful way (read: paid). The sound of contracts breaking would sound in every entertainment lawyers’ ears.
Anyway, Dubset Media has found a legal way around all of this. They have actually invented a technology called MixBank that will analyze every bit of a mix file and identify the recordings. Once it does that, both record labels and music publishers will be paid accordingly.
