2015 BET Awards saw Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean win three awards each, beating out Drake who was nominated for 12 awards, but only took two home.

Lamar has been active in the hip hop scene for over a decade. He’s worked with a number of big names, including Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Busta Rhymes. He’s won Grammies this year for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Big Sean is no stranger to BET Awards, having won Best New Artist in 2012 and Album of the Year in the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Other winners were: Beyoncé for Best Female R&B/Pop Artis; Rae Sremmurd for Best Group; Nicki Minaj for Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
