You’d think that in an industry rife with creativity that we wouldn’t be hearing stories of bias, prejudice and preconceived ideas pitting people against each other.

Sadly, whatever creativity and out-of-the-box thinking may go into the music, it’s nowhere to be seen behind executives’ closed office doors.

Case in point: Tinashe has gone on record in an interview withΒ xoNecole to say that the challenges that women – especially black women – face in the music industry are far and above what any man faces. She explains that “the industry makes space for only one black woman at a time.”
