Yesterday, I pointed you toward some advice around the question of what to do if you’re a teenager or young adult and your parents are dead set against you pursuing your DJing dreams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But, what if that negative voice isn’t coming from anyone around you? What if it’s coming from deep within yourself?<\/p>\n

Dumping your day job and becoming a full-time DJ is scary. If you’ve got a decent paying day job and you’re DJing gigs at night, you might be thinking that the last thing you should do is give up that safety net.<\/p>\n

There’s one sure way to figure out what the best course of action is \u2013 ask yourself some questions.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, you need to get your money in order. If you quit your day job, do you have enough of a financial cushion to keep you going until DJing starts paying your bills? Do you have the equipment you need to make a go of it, or do you still need to sink more money into that part of DJing? What about your DJing skills? Do you need more practice time to sound like a pro or are you there already?<\/p>\n
