Does it all look basically the same? Except for some differences, like a touchstrip instead of a pad, or a few general design tweaks that don&#8217;t affect the function of the gear, every piece you own probably has similar features.<\/p>\n<p>Phil Morse over at\u00a0<em>Digital DJ Tips<\/em> noticed that little fact, and is quite happy about it. He argues that it means each brand is standardizing. Sticking to general, industry-wide conventions makes it easier for DJs to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mp3poolonline.com\/blog\/2015-edition-what-controller-is-right-for-you-all-in-one-vs-modular-dj-setups-via-dj-techtools\/\">use a variety of equipment<\/a> even if they&#8217;ve never seen it before.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what he noticed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>waveforms across systems are colored<\/li>\n<li>pads are built in 2&#215;4 layouts<\/li>\n<li>sync is showing up on pretty much everything<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can read the rest of his findings <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitaldjtips.com\/2016\/10\/dj-gear-is-all-becoming-similar-and-thats-fine-by-me\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The bigger question is whether or not you&#8217;ve noticed this trend toward standardizing DJ gear.
