Wahwah, echo out (one of my faves), vocal remover, flanged loop out … the list of DJ effects goes on and on.<\/p>\n

Effects are great fun, but they also serve a point. Take echo out, for instance. Echoing, especially when it’s getting quieter each time the sound rebounds, is a good one to use to bring one piece of audio to an end before introducing the next bit.<\/p>\n

The best way I’ve heard phaser and flanger effects described is that they’re like “listening to sound coming from a rotating speaker” (digitaldjtips.com<\/a>). There are literally dozens of possible<\/a> effects available to DJs. Some come with technology (like Serato) and some can be purchased later as apps. Word of warning though, it takes a certain degree of experience to use them. Inexperienced DJs can tend to overuse them, and the general rule here is that less really is more.<\/p>\n
