So, with that in mind, Nicholas Yiu, a student at Penn State, and his friend Matt Hong at the University of California, Berkeley, created Mixathon48.<\/p>\n<p>The idea revolves around making three short music files available to anyone who wishes to participate. All they have to do is download the files, create an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mp3poolonline.com\/blog\/my-mp3-pool-all-star-mix-series-dj-mike-carbonell-drops-a-new-mix\/\">original mix<\/a>, and upload the finished mix online.<\/p>\n<p>The team will judge all submissions, and the winner will receive a bunch of cool prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, the internet is the great leveler. The Mixathon48 is a fabulous way to encourage anyone to engage with music of all genres. You don&#8217;t have to have studied an instrument for years to be thought of as a musician.
