According to Billboard<\/a>,<\/em> DJ Mustard’s sound is easily recognizable<\/a>, complex and even iconic. A long proponent of minimalism in music, the less-is-more philosophy, Mustard’s sound has been described as “a mass of contradictions: studious but tossed-off, clinical but rowdy, brutally repetitive and endlessly effective.”<\/p>\n

By all accounts, including his own, 2015 was not a particularly stellar year for him<\/a> despite the fact that so many others have benefitted greatly from his talent \u2013 Major Lazer, Jamie xx, Fetty Wap, Drake and even Selena Gomez.<\/p>\n

It’s completely appropriate that Mustard has no plans to lay down and die<\/a>. He’s determined to get back on top with new music and new collaborations.<\/p>\n
