DJ Cuppy, aka Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, hails from Nigeria, but has spent a lot of time in London. Although she’s been working as a DJ since she was 16, she stayed in school and is currently adding to her Business and Economics degrees with a Master’s degree in the music business.<\/p>\n

I really like how she continues to break down stereotypes <\/a>by pursuing interests in areas typically associated with men. Take dj-ing, for example, the images of women portrayed in Hip Hop song lyrics and videos diminish who women really are<\/a>. But, it does the same thing for men, too. No one gets a fair shake. There are also super-smart djs and artists who believe they have to act out\u00a0the illusion of life and behavior that the music industry demands of they show. DJ Cuppy is trying to break all that down. More power to her, I say.<\/p>\n
