Twitch has been a safe haven for live streaming DJs but it has been unclear how the Amazon owned streaming company has been able to avoid copyright takedowns. Artists like T-pain have given streamers a free pass to use his music in streams. Unfortunately, most artists are at the mercy of the record labels and don’t have the ability to give others permissions to use their own music.

In the statement, Twitch says that the new partnership “brings various recording artists to Twitch and creates a standalone music space featuring premium music-centric programming”
More details are to come, we aren’t sure if this means WMG will tightly monitor their recorded music on Twitch or if the opposite will hold true. Check in for updates!
