Pioneer has released some powerful collabs that have been dual compatible with both Rekordbox and Serato software, yet this one may be the most powerful one of them all. Take two Pioneer-CDJ-2000’s and weld them on to the sides of a DJM-900 and you have this behemoth of a DJ controller. You can use your laptop with Rekordbox or Serato software in addition to using USBs for music playback. It is clear that this machine is intended to be a solution for clubs and club DJs and you should expect to start seeing this controller in venues. With a price tag of around $2300 USD this is less than half of the price of the aforementioned club set up which can run you upwards of $6000 USD. It should be noted that although there are 4 channels, only channels 1 and 2 have USB functionality, this would give Denon’s latest standalone unit; the Denon Prime 4, a notch above the Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ.

Pioneer’s latest controller features a 7” touchscreen, full sized jog wheels with upgraded screens, 16 performance pads and a traditional Pioneer club feel. You also receive a slew of the standard Pioneer features including 6 Sound Color FXs. Serato compatibility is coming January 2020 so you can expect a suite of additional features when that time comes. Watch the video below for an overview of the Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ in a live performance setting. This is certainly a powerful controller, even more so than the SRT1000 and appears to have universal functionality that should cater to most club DJs. Will you be buying Pioneer’s latest controller?
