If you didn’t learn it in kindergarten, you better learn it now. You can’t go around hitting people just because they’re not doing what you’ve asked them to. Got it?

A woman in England clearly never learned that important lesson. She was at her company Christmas party when she decided the DJ needed to play her favorite songs. The DJ, as you can imagine, had other plans.

Anyway, one thing led to another and the disgruntled woman assaulted the bar manager and a security guard. She was not only charged $600, but was banned from setting foot on the premises again for a year.

Most importantly, the company she worked for fired her. You might wonder how they could do that since she hadn’t attacked any of her colleagues and the incident did not take place at work. Well, the company is perfectly in its rights to fire her. Most companies have a code of conduct that you’re expected to adhere to whether you’ve signed it or not. They’re allowed to fire you if they feel you’ve broken the rules.

So, you might be wondering what any of that has to do with you. Well, if you’re a part-time DJ who relies on a day job to pay the bills, you need to know what’s in your company’s code of conduct. If you’re a full-time DJ, and you have an incident like the one described above, you can lodge a complaint with the company.

I guess the moral of the story is to always be on your best behavior … and hope other people are, too!
