Looking to up your game a bit? How about spinning tunes at one of the world’s top rated clubs?
DJ Magazine has just released its list of the best clubs around the world. It would be great to be able to DJ at one of them. But the reality is that getting hired might prove to be a bit of a challenge. But don’t let me dampen your dreams. Aim high. You might just find yourself DJing there at some point in the future.
In the meantime, DJ Mag’s list is interesting for another reason. It shows how a club’s popularity can ebb and rise again after a time.
Figuring out why a club can fall out of favor is another story entirely. Sometimes it’s because management hasn’t kept up with changing tastes. Sometimes it’s because the club ended up in serious financial trouble.
But sometimes, there seems to be no clear explanation. Take Space Ibiza with its capacity to entertain up to 5000 revellers at any one time – day or night. A year ago, it had fallen out of top spot. Now, it’s back on top at number one. What was that blip about? Who knows!
