Hey DJs, do you ever feel like the crowd wouldn’t care if you weren’t there. Sometimes, you might feel like you’re not connecting with them in any real way. You try to get them to respond to you, but they don’t. Does it mean you should hang up your headphones and never DJ again? Of course not. You might just be having an off night. Or, maybe you just need to shift your way of thinking.

Sports DJs might find themselves in that position a lot. The crowd they play for is usually confined to the seats, and during breaks in play, people more likely to head to the washroom or snack bar instead of dancing in the aisles.

Rather than feeling you’re wasting your talents, DJs who play sports events are truly appreciated and needed to keep the crowd in the seats. When the home team looks like it’s about to implode, it’s the DJ who can rally the crowd’s energy. If you’re really good, you can help spectators have a great time regardless of whether their favorite team is winning or losing.
