Queen Elizabeth Refuses to Knight DJs
Right-o, so it’s raining where I am today. It’s just the right kind of day for a story that is so funny it brought tears to my eyes. It is a story about Queen Elizabeth and DJs. No, the Queen has not decided that she’d like to take up DJing in her sunset years. Although that would most certainly be newsworthy, it wouldn’t be funny. The Queen, according to a story recently published, has apparently decided that she will refuse to knight any DJ.
Before you start cursing the Queen and her corgis for chronic stodginess, I’ve got news for you. Actually, this story isn’t newsworthy at all. It isn’t even news. (Notice the use of the word “apparently”?) This story comes from The Onion, which if you don’t already know, is a hugely funny satirical magazine.
