As popular as Ibiza is among DJs and music lovers, its residents view it in an entirely different matter. Once again, the noise generated in the West End have left residents hot and bothered. They, in turn, have complained to their city council. So, San Antonio council has imposed even tougher sound restrictions on the popular party zone.

Over the summer, noise levels regularly rose at least 20 dB above the limit of 65dB. That limit, by the way, is only during the day. At night, the noise limit caps at 55 dB.

It’s a tough position for Ibiza to be in. Their tourists zones bring in a lot of revenue. At the same time, excessive noise levels pose a health hazard for those living in those vicinities. Hopefully, a fair compromise can be reached.
