Usually DJs have been focussed on figuring out how to transfer vinyl to digital. Every step forward requires a step back. Or rather, every step forward is made more interesting by the past. DJs love vinyl. But DJs also love digital. Vinylize.it thinks its found a way to merge the two loves for DJs via SoundCloud.

The idea behind it is the ability to turn digital tracks that you love into actual vinyl. This is how it works:

  • pick the tracks you want
  • create your record
  • share your record release
  • get artist approval
  • order your vinyl

DJs have complained that there’s no new vinyl that’s being made. Maybe that’s no true any longer.

What do you think about this development? Is it something you’d use?
