As DJs, we don’t have to sample from artists, but we do. Mixing different songs just adds to the whole package. It makes our mixes more interesting, and people like to hear music they’re familiar with. The problem is that, if you sample, you might be crossing legal lines. Unless you have permission to use a piece of music, you could find yourself in a bit of trouble.

Enter Swedish company Tracklib. It’s created a kind of online shopping experience where you can buy and (eventually) licence music that you want to use as part of your own mixes.
