Kendrick Lamar Honors N.W.A.
This one comes from the “Better Late Than Never” file. N.W.A. will finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place in April, and none other than Kendrick Lamar will do the honors.
Lamar is the perfect person to perform this honor, don’t you think? Of all the musicians today, Lamar is one of the few who, in my opinion, has gone back to, and stayed true to, the heart of Hip Hop. Themes of injustice and protest were threaded through N.W.A.’s music as they are with much of Lamar’s work. Lamar has also noted how influential N.W.A. has been in his own formation as a musician.
