It looks like one of the safe havens for DJs is about to shut its doors. Dance clubs in Ibiza have received official warnings from both the municipal and island governments to limit their operations.

Locals and tourists have been complaining about two problems. One is the loud dance music that DJs are pumping out every night, and another is the fact that clubs are restricting beach access to club patrons only.

In response, the various levels of government are requiring all clubs to lower noise levels from 85db to 65db, though that level might decrease further over the coming year. The governments have also issued fewer permits allowing clubs to play music. Some have even received warnings indicating that they are considered restaurants only and will be heavily fined if they operate as a dance club.

Have you ever been to Ibiza? What do you think of these changes?
