Sometimes, you just feel so dejected. You shut the computer off, turn out the light and close the door behind you as you shuffle out of your workroom. On those days, you can’t help but wonder in what dingy bar your muse got held up.

Sometimes, creativity is elusive. It sits just beyond your reach. But, you want to get your playlists just right. You want to prepare your edits and mixes and other creative work, but you can’t. You’ve become the man or woman with no idea.

Don’t stress. We’ve all been there.

Fortunately, there are tried and true ways of training your brain to access that creative spirit whenever you need it.

One of my personal tricks is to work on a project at the same time every day. Even if some days aren’t very productive, the very fact that I’m working at it keeps my brain functioning at a creative level. It means that tomorrow, I’ll see the results of today’s efforts.
