Masatane Muto hadn’t been DJing for long before he received the diagnosis that would change his life. He had ALS, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was only 27.

ALS slowly damages nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord until all muscle control is lost. DJing, as you know, requires complete control over your body’s movement. If you can’t do that, how can you DJ? Muto found a way.

One of the last muscles to be affected by ALS is the eye. Muto and JINS INC created special eyewear and software that allow him to control his DJ equipment.
