I’ve written before about DJ techniques, some definitely definitely overused.

Now, how about looking at one DJ technique that’s underused? Beat Jump. Are you familiar with it? Basically, beat jumping lets the DJ skip forward or backward through a track while keeping to the beat.

If you own Traktor Pro, Rekordbox DJ, or Serato DJ, you’re probably at least a little familiar with beat jumping.

In order to do it well, you have to have a good handle on how to use a beat grid correctly, and how to figure out beat length, too. Then you have to figure out whether you want to go forward or backward.
