Spinning tunes is one thing. Most DJs don’t stop there. They mix, transition … and do whatever kinds of edits they feel are fun and get the crowd moving. At some point, all DJs will probably find themselves needing to master their mixes. The question is how to do that job well.

One of the goals of mixing is to achieve “a good balance of all the elements in the track; mastering is to get a good shape and level for the track as a single entity, and to match it sonically to other tracks on an album.” Got that?
